Maglir was a member of the Fighter’s Guild, but you’ll see him deflect to join the infamous Blackwood Company as you progress through his short quests. But man does he make a fantastic companion. This greedy asshole might be one of the most obnoxious characters in the game. My aim is for you to get a good idea of the best followers in the game as a whole, so you can choose whichever one you like the most according to your own needs. However, being accompanied whilst wandering through the planes of Oblivion or throughout Cyrodiil could be the defining difference between life and death. There really aren’t many useful companions in the game, since many followers are only obtained on a temporary basis. The Oblivion companion system is not really as well done compared to Skyrim.
